Tinker & Tallulah unveils Biba-inspired lampshade collection

Luxury British lampshade studio Tinker & Tallulah has introduced a limited-edition collection celebrating the glamour, drama and rebellious spirit of 1970s design. The Deco Glamour Edit is a bold new series of handmade lampshades created in homage to the enduring cultural legacy of Biba, one of Britain’s most iconic fashion and lifestyle movements.

A tribute to a defining design era

The launch coincides with The Biba Story: 1964–1975 exhibition at Dovecot Studios, an immersive showcase charting Biba’s rise from mail-order boutique to a force that shaped the look and attitude of a generation.

Tinker & Tallulah’s collection channels the exhibition’s mood through rich, moody palettes, graphic contrasts and a touch of theatrical excess, hallmarks of the Biba aesthetic that continue to influence interiors today.

Statement lampshades with vintage drama

Comprising five sculptural “swishy” silhouettes, The Deco Glamour Edit is designed to bring cinematic flair to contemporary homes. Each lampshade is finished with the brand’s signature tassels, adding movement and texture while reinforcing the collection’s retro glamour.

The designs are named after female icons synonymous with the era’s fearless style: Barbara Hulanicki, Bianca Jagger, Brigitte Bardot, Marianne Faithfull and Mary Quant. Together, they form a collection that feels both nostalgic and strikingly modern, statement lighting that bridges past and present.

Craft meets cultural homage

Handmade in Britain, the limited run underscores Tinker & Tallulah’s commitment to craftsmanship while celebrating a pivotal moment in British design history. The result is lighting that functions as both decorative object and cultural tribute, ideal for interiors seeking personality, drama and a touch of rock-and-roll elegance.
